Our Philosophy

At Russian Radials, we appreciate that most vintage engines are old and worn, with many parts approaching the end of their in-service life and tolerances. Our library of original Russian factory manuals allows us to repair, restore, rebuild and test engines to the manufacturer's exact specifications.

"As a pilot and operator, I am acutely aware of the importance of a serviceable and reliable powerplant. I set up Russian Radials because I couldn’t find any existing engine shop with the specialist manuals, skills and tooling to work on these engines to what I felt was an acceptable level of precision.

When you’re sitting behind a 60 year old engine in a 2½ ton aeroplane and the windscreen suddenly covers with oil you quickly regret not spending more on the big lumpy bit at the front – at least I did when it happened to me!
